Our Owner: Chris Barber

Chris was born and raised in Belfast, Northern Ireland. In 1992, at the age of 18, he moved to London to pursue a degree in physiotherapy and has been living and working in London ever since, amounting to just over 30 years.

Chris lives in Beckenham with his wife and their 14-year-old twin boys. The family enjoys an active lifestyle, engaging in activities like cycling and golf. He is an avid runner and is currently training for a marathon. Having played a lot of sports as a child, especially rugby, he experienced injuries that required physiotherapy. This sparked his interest in the field, along with a general interest in science and the human body.

Chris completed his degree at King’s College London, graduating in 1996 and has been working as a full-time physiotherapist since then. Initially, he worked in the NHS before moving into private practice after a few years. In 2003, he established his own company and has been working full-time in that practice ever since.

In 2024, the practice was rebranded as Wellness in Motion, previously known as Advanced Physiotherapy. They have had clinics in Southeast London and Kent for nearly 20 years. Chris is a full-time practising physiotherapist, and with his colleague Reuben collectively bring over 40 years of experience in the physiotherapy industry. The company rebranding aims to expand its services in the wellness space to include strength and conditioning, nutrition, sports massage and Pilates.
